ONTARIO, CALIF. — CH2M Hill has unveiled the findings of a comprehensive year-long study measuring the vast scale and recharge rate of the Cadiz aquifer system. The study, presented this month at a conference of the Association of Ground Water Agencies and American Ground Water Trust, describes a groundwater basin consisting principally of an alluvial and carbonate aquifer ranging in size between 17 and 34 million acre-feet, a volume of water larger than Lake Mead, the nation’s largest surface reservoir....

Federal court declines to intervene in PVC pipe case
 LOS ANGELES — The Federal District Court in Los Angeles unsealed and publicly released its court order regarding the federal government’s decision not to intervene in a qui tam lawsuit challenging the quality of JM Eagle polyvinyl chloride (PVC) water pipe products and related processes. The government made its decision official on Feb. 9, 2010, following a three-year investigation in which JM Eagle said it provided tens of thousands of pages of documents and certifications. Transportation Projects Roadmap

Stressed public budgets and delayed passage of long-term federal funding have taken a toll on many transportation infrastructure projects in the United States during the last year. Nevertheless, many significant projects are moving ahead. The inaugural CE News Transportation Projects Roadmap lists 50 notable transportation infrastructure projects in the United States - ranked by estimated cost - that are currently in some stage of planning, design, or early construction.
