WEF presents Collection Systems 2009 

The Water Environment Federation (WEF) will present Collection Systems 2009: Working Together to Address Wet Weather Challenges, April 19-22, 2009, at the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville, Ky. Organized by the WEF Collection Systems Committee, in cooperation with the Kentucky/Tennessee Water Environment Association, this conference is expected to draw professionals from across the United States with a common interest in upgrading and improving the efficiency of their collection systems. The conference will promote the exchange of ideas to further the goals and objectives of the collection systems industry through workshops, technical sessions, and an exhibition.

Topics include effective integration of CSO, SSO, and stormwater programs; how changing regulations are affecting the planning, design, and operation and maintenance of collection systems facilities; public participation and notification; private property programs; improving operations and maintenance of sewer systems; challenges of sewer system rehabilitation; an overview of various EPA Region IV & V Consent Decree Programs; infrastructure risk management; options for sewer system modeling; and an in-depth review of Louisville’s Consent Decree Program.

The conference is specifically designed for anyone involved in the planning, design, or operation and maintenance of collection systems and wet weather facilities including utility managers and operators; consulting engineers; managers/owners of contract operation firms; state and federal regulators; equipment manufacturers and representatives; and students.

Civil engineering industry outlook - Part 1
