Water For People awards AECOM global sponsor status

LOS ANGELES — AECOM was recently named a “global sponsor” of Water For People (WFP). The designation recognizes companies that raise more than $100,000 per year for the non-profit organization, which supports resources, sanitation facilities, and hygiene-education programs in developing countries.

AECOM has raised more than $125,000 for WFP since 2010. More than 90 percent of the funds have been through a payroll deduction program in Canada and the United States, with the remaining money coming from company fundraising initiatives. Prior to the establishment of the workplace giving program, AECOM was involved with WFP fundraising and outreach initiatives for many years.

“The need to provide people in the developing world access to safe water and sanitation is an issue that resonates with our global staff and I am proud of their personal commitment to make a difference," said AECOM’s Greg Sauter, executive vice president and chief corporate officer. "By partnering with an organization that shares our values and is committed to implementing programs that impact deserving communities, AECOM continues to demonstrate its commitment to creating, enhancing and sustaining the world’s built, natural and social environments.”
