SAN FRANCISCO — URS Corp. acquired Columbia, S.C.-based BP Barber, a privately held civil engineering firm specializing in water and wastewater infrastructure. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The addition of BP Barber expands URS' presence in South Carolina, particularly in the attractive water/wastewater market and provides immediate opportunities for URS to broaden services to existing BP Barber customers.

With a staff of approximately 150 professionals working from six offices located in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia, BP Barber provides engineering services to state and local government agencies and private sector companies in the Southeast. The company primarily serves the water/wastewater market. It also provides environmental, urban development, surveying, and geographic information system services.
