OLATHE, KAN. — Terracon has been named No. 48 on the list of the top 100 largest majority employee-owned companies in the United States. Since 1965, Terracon has grown from a small Iowa geotechnical firm to a large, multifaceted national firm.
The list is compiled annually by the National Center for Employee Ownership, a private, nonprofit membership and research organization in Oakland, Calif. Overall, there are about 11,400 companies in the U.S. with employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs), the most common form of broad-based employee ownership.
