Study analyzes management compensation at U.S. A/E/P firms

WAYLAND, MASS. — According to ZweigWhite's 2009-2010 Management Compensation Survey, some companies are cutting back on bonuses after a year of reduced revenues and profits. These findings are based on the analysis of the base salary, bonus, overtime pay, and total compensation information at leading U.S. architecture, engineering, planning (A/E/P) and environmental consulting firms.

The survey points out that while 48 percent of the companies surveyed plan to leave their incentive compensation plans intact in 2010, 6 percent are eliminating them and 12 percent are giving out smaller bonuses. In addition, 9 percent are hiring at lower rates and not giving out bonuses.

Civil engineering industry outlook - Part 1

While 2011 didn't offer too much progress in an economic turnaround, it seems that many people in the architecture, engineering, planning (A/E/P) and environmental consulting industries are adjusting to challenges. For 2012, increased stability is expected, although large changes don't seem likely.
