Parsons Brinckerhoff to provide FDOT with statewide modeling and planning support

TAMPA, FLA. — The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has awarded a contract to Parsons Brinckerhoff (PB) for statewide modeling and planning support. Under the general planning contract, PB will support FDOT’s Systems Planning Office to provide model development as well as research and maintenance of the Florida Standard Urban
Transportation Model Structure (FSUTMS), which is used by the state’s metropolitan planning organizations and FDOT districts. The goal is to ensure that Florida’s transportation systems are evaluated consistently at both local and state levels.

PB will provide professional services to maintain, modify, and upgrade, as necessary, various applications associated with the FSUTMS. PB will also develop, maintain, and improve statewide model applications in support of the strategic intermodal system along with other modeling training and professional assistance as needed. The firm may also be required to provide multi-modal transportation model applications in support of urban, regional, and statewide short-range and long-range plans, corridor studies, and other FDOT work program projects.
