Merrick & Company names David G. Huelskamp as president

AURORA, COLO. — The Board of Directors of Merrick & Company announced that David G. Huelskamp has been selected as president of the firm, effective Jan. 3, 2012. Merrick & Company is a global, employee-owned, multidisciplinary professional services firm specializing in the energy, national security, life sciences, and sustainable infrastructure markets. The firm provides engineering, architecture, design-build, surveying, and geospatial technologies services.

Huelskamp will report to Ralph W. Christie, Jr., P.E., who has been Merrick’s chairman, president and CEO for nearly 15 years. As part of this transition, Christie will continue as chairman and CEO.

As President, Huelskamp will be responsible for the operations of the company and several corporate support functions within the organization. He has been with Merrick for more than 15 years, and most recently he held the role of senior vice president, Business Development. He holds an engineering degree from the U.S. Air Force Academy and an MBA from Arizona State University.

“Transitioning the president’s position to David is very important and timely, considering the significant growth the company has experienced,” said Christie. “Merrick’s vision over the next several years is to continue to grow the firm’s service offerings to clients and expand its geographic footprint. I congratulate David. He is a great selection by the Board to be the firm’s next president, because he lives the corporate values of Merrick, is very attuned to exceptional client service, and will continue to build Merrick as a desired place to work.”
