The International Erosion Control Association’s (IECA) membership re-elected Becky Gauthier to the 2009 Board of Directors. Joining Gauthier are new board members Phil Handley, REM, CPESC, and Rick Morse, CPESC, CPSS, CEnvP.

Handley and Morse will begin their service to the association and its members in February alongside fellow board members Mike Chase, CPESC, CPSWQ, CESSWI; Julie Etra, CPESC; Gauthier; Mark Hunter, P.E.; Sandy Mathews; Brock Peters, CISEC; and Tom Williams, CPESC.

Gauthier works as a technical associate for Profile Products. She has more than 17 years experience in the hydraulic mulch industry and has been an active member of IECA since 1988. During this time, she has served as the board of directors administrative vice president, chair of the Ethic Committee, Chapter Advisory Committee, and Professional Development Committee.

Handley is a construction compliance supervisor of the San Antonio Water System and has been an active member of IECA since 2003. His leadership experience with IECA includes South Central Chapter board member, vice president-administration, and chapter president. Handley is also serving as a member of the Government Relations Committee and the Future of the Association Strategy Team (FAST).

Morse is retired, although he continues to work part-time as a consultant to his former company, SEEC Morse McVey. Morse has served on the Australasian Chapter board of directors as secretary, is currently serving on the International Development Committee, and is international associate editor for Environmental Connection, IECA’s members-only magazine.

The IECA board of directors comprises nine members, each serving a three-year term. Board positions will be decided at a meeting to be held at Environmental Connection EC09, IECA’s annual conference and expo, Feb. 9-13, 2009, in Reno, Nev.
