Hill International acquires TRS Consultants  

WAYLAND, MASS. — Hill International acquired TRS Consultants, Inc., a firm that provides civil engineering, program management, construction management, and information technology services primarily to the transportation and infrastructure market. TRS, is based in San Ramon, Calif. The transaction was initiated by ZweigWhite Financial Advisory Services, which served as financial advisor to TRS Consultants.

David L. Richter, Hill's president and COO, said, "TRS Consultants is an outstanding firm of construction management professionals with a great reputation in the transportation sector. TRS considerably strengthens our resources and capabilities in Northern California." Ranjit K. Chakravorti, Ph.D., P.E., president of TRS anticipates that the acquisition will help accelerate the growth of the company in the years ahead.

TRS Consultants, which has approximately 40 employees, was founded in 1987. Hill International, which has approximately 2,300 employees in 80 offices worldwide, provides program management, project management, construction management, and construction claims and consulting services. In 2009, Hill International was recognized by The Zweig Letter as the fastest-growing company among architecture, engineering, and environmental consulting firms in the United States and Canada.

Civil engineering industry outlook - Part 1
