PROVIDENCE, R.I. — GEI Consultants Inc. opened an office in Providence, R.I. It is the firm’s 20th location and its fourth in New England. Opened to respond to the growing needs of GEI’s Rhode Island clients, the office is jointly led by Tim Olean, an environmental professional with 25 years of remediation design, implementation, and construction oversight experience, and Matt O’Neil, P.E., with more than 14 years of environmental consulting experience.

“While we have worked in Rhode Island for more than 25 years, our local presence in Providence will better serve our clients,” said Fred Johnson, LEP, senior vice president and regional manager. “In addition, Rhode Island is a state closely associated with, and connected by, water. The state has numerous developing issues related to flood control, sea level rise, and ecological impacts. GEI brings expertise to these areas.”

GEI’s Rhode Island office provides a full range of consulting engineering services to government, private industry, and energy clients supported by nearly 300 staff located throughout New England.
