DALLAS — The Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) is presenting back-to-back conferences in April in Dallas highlighting design-build for water/wastewater projects and design-build for transportation projects. “While both sectors have distinct differences, members agreed that attending a dual session for both groups would prove beneficial,” DBIA said.

The 2010 Design-Build for Water/Wastewater Conference (www.dbia.org/conferences/waterww), April 19-21, offers four tracks with concurrent sessions: The Procurement & Contracting Frontier, The Project Delivery Frontier, The Design-Build Project Team Frontier, and The Design-Build Plus Frontier. The 2010 Design-Build in Transportation Conference (www.dbia.org/conferences/transportation), April 21-23 in the same venue, offers three tracks with concurrent sessions: Financing the Design-Build Project, Design-Build from the Owner’s Perspective, and Design-Build for Non-highway Transportation Projects.

In a three-hour “collision” of the two conferences on April 21, two industry experts will talk to both sectors on legislation, public-private-partnerships, procurement, and contracting.

Separately, the 2010 Design-Build for Water/Wastewater Conference provides as many as 17.25 hours of continuing education credit, including up to five hours of health, safety, and welfare (HSW); while the 2010 Design-Build in Transportation Conference provides as many as 17 hours of continuing education credit, including up to three hours of HSW. Attendees of both the 2010 Water/Wastewater and 2010 Transportation Conference can earn as many as 31.25 hours of continuing education credit, including as many as eight hours of HSW.
