Corps opens Morganza Floodway gates 

On Saturday, May 14, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers began opening gates on the Morganza Floodway to lessen the chance of  flooding on the Mississippi River in Baton Rouge, La., and New Orleans. As of Monday, May 16, a total of 15 gates had been opened. Watch a video of the first gates being opened.
