Collection Systems 2011slated for June in Raleigh, N.C.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – The Water Environment Federation (WEF) will present Collection Systems 2011 at the Raleigh Convention Center in Raleigh, N.C., June 13-14. This specialty conference will address the topic of continued rehabilitation and the idea that infrastructure replacement is necessary to avoid public health concerns, regulatory fines, damage to the environment, and stymied growth.

Organized by the WEF Collection Systems Committee, in cooperation with the North Carolina Water Environment Association, this conference will draw professionals from across the United States with a common interest in upgrading and improving the efficiency of their water collection systems.

The conference will promote the exchange of ideas to advance effective and successful collection systems through workshops, technical sessions, and an exhibition with special emphasis on system operations, specific project-related experiences, and case studies. Topics include: system operation and maintenance; management and planning; regional and state issues; rehabilitation practices; affordability; sustainability, energy and asset management; regulatory issues; and stormwater.

The conference is specifically designed for anyone involved in the planning, design, or operation and maintenance of collection systems and wet weather facilities including: utility managers and operators; consulting engineers; managers/owners of contract operation firms; state and federal regulators; equipment manufacturers and representatives; and students.
