WOODBRIDGE, VA — Balfour Beatty Infrastructure Inc. acquired Fru-Con, a water and wastewater infrastructure contractor based in Virginia. Balfour Beatty Infrastructure acquired Fru-Con Construction, LLC, from Germany-based Bilfinger-Berger.

“The water and wastewater infrastructure market has been very successful for Balfour Beatty Infrastructure,” said Ray Bond, president and CEO of Balfour Beatty Infrastructure. “With Fru-Con added to our portfolio we now combine the expertise of a water and wastewater specialist with those of a local civil contractor. We plan to draw on this combined skill set to grow further into the mid-Atlantic and California markets, as well as other regions including the Carolinas, Georgia, Florida, and Texas, in order to service their growing infrastructure needs. ”

Fru-Con will retain its name and operate as a region of Balfour Beatty Infrastructure. The approximately 150 regional employees will be led by Michael R. Fischer, vice president of Fru-Con. Fischer will continue to be based in Woodbridge, Va., and will report to Bond.
