ARTBA Foundation seeks 2009 awards nominations

The American Road & Transportation Builders Association Transportation Development Foundation (ARTBA-TDF) is calling for nominations for its 2009 PRIDE Awards, which honor "excellence in community relations and public education that enhance the image of the U.S. transportation design and construction industry."

Awards are presented in the following categories:

  • Community Relations—Programs and activities that demonstrate positive civic involvement with the community in which a firm or agency is located; and
  • Public-Media Relations/Education—Programs and activities that educate the public and opinion leaders about the significant contributions the transportation construction industry (or a specific sector of it) makes to the economy or quality of life.

The 2009 "PRIDE Awards" program is open to all industry firms, agencies, and associations. ARTBA membership is not required.

A completed nomination must be received at ARTBA by March 13, 2009. Obtain entry forms by contacting Rhonda Britton at 202-289-4434, rbritton@artba.org, or online at www.artbatdf.org. Award winners will be notified in writing by April 3, 2009. Awards will be presented during the 2009 ARTBA Federal Issues Program conference, held in Washington, D.C., May 18-20.
