AWWA opens ACE12 registration
DENVER —€”
Registration is now open for the American Water Works Association's (AWWA) 2012 Annual Conference & Exposition (ACE12), to be held June 10-14, 2012, in Dallas. The global water community will gather to explore the future of safe water, gain insight into cutting-edge research and best practices, and experience the latest products and services available to the water community.

ACE12 will feature eight in-depth, interactive workshops and more than 100 professional sessions comprising more than 550 presentations. Attendees will have the opportunity to earn contact hours for the Distribution & Plant Operations, Engineering and Construction, Manufacturers & Associates, Reuse, Small Systems, and Water Quality tracks. Additionally, Sunday workshops and facility tours may qualify for contact hours.

More than 500 service providers will exhibit at ACE12, showcasing the latest products and services for all aspects of the water industry. Visit www.awwa.org/ACE12 to register.

AAEE approves Environmental Scientist Certification
ANNAPOLIS, MD. —€”
The American Academy of Environmental Engineers (AAEE) will begin accepting applications from highly qualified environmental scientists for a separate new academy certification: Board Certified Environmental Scientist. Additionally, AAEE will change its name to American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists.

The Academy anticipates taking applications for environmental scientists beginning March 31, 2012, and administering the first set of examinations in 2013. The name change will be officially implemented in the near future.

IECA launches podcast series
DENVER —€”
The International Erosion Control Association (IECA) launched its first podcast series entitled "Clearing the Waters." The recording is saved in a MP3 format that allows listeners the choice of uploading it to any MP3 device or listening to it from a desktop or laptop computer. The purpose of the podcast series is to provide listeners with an inside look at IECA's annual conference and expo, Environmental Connection 2012 (EC12). The 2012 conference will be held at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino Las Vegas from Feb. 26-29, 2012.

IECA plans to release a podcast each week leading up to the conference. Listeners can expect to hear from a wide array of guests including conference speakers and presenters, IECA committee members, association staff, and board of directors.
