Erosion control technologies
Landmark Earth Solutions Inc. (LES) offers three new engineered erosion control and earth management technologies — EcoTrans, Safe Slope Xtreme, and RIBS. EcoTrans is a 100-percent recycled, vegetated replacement for rock rip rap, intended for applications in severe hydraulic conditions that do not require the premium attributes of ScourStop, LES’ flagship transition mat. Safe Slope Xtreme is a high-performance, natural fiber, hydraulically applied mulch made from a proprietary blend of biodegradable cotton plant byproducts, crop residue, and reclaimed cotton lint enhanced by bonding agents. RIBS is a rapidly deployed, patented alternative to sandbags for flood control and de-watering applications.

Hydraulic mulch products
American Excelsior Co. is launching a new family of hydraulic mulches called Bindex, which includes a Bonded Fiber Matrix (BFM) along with Bindex Wood (wood fiber mulch with or without tackifier) and Bindex Blend (wood-paper blend mulch with or without tackifier). These hydraulic mulches use the company’s Curlex fibers as a component to enhance performance characteristics of Bindex. Curlex fibers feature “barbed” fibers and improve their ability to cling to one another and to the soil being protected.
