IECA announces 2011 Board of Directors
DENVER — The International Erosion Control Association’s membership voted to re-elect Julie Etra, MS, CPESC, and Tom Williams, MA, CPESC, to the 2011 Board of Directors. Joining Etra and Williams to the 2011 Board of Directors is new board member Beth Chesson, CPESC, CPSWQ.
The IECA Board of Directors is made up of nine members, each serving a three-year term. Board positions will be decided at the board meeting to be held at Environmental Connection 2011 (EC11), IECA’s annual conference and expo, Feb. 20-23, 2011, in Orlando, Fla. JQ Infrastructure president appointed AWWA Texas deputy trustee
DALLAS — C. Raajan Mehta, P.E., president of JQ Infrastructure, has been appointed deputy trustee of the Board of Trustees of the Texas section of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) for the 2010-2012 term.
Mehta is a licensed engineer in the state of Texas and has more than 17 years of experience in civil and environmental engineering. Mehta founded Mehta West Brashear Group LLC in 2003 and was named president of JQ Infrastructure, which was created following his firm’s merger with JQ Dallas LLP.
Lurie receives Airport Consultants Council award
WATERTOWN, MASS. — Carol Lurie, AICP, principal at Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, was honored by the Airport Consultants Council (ACC) with the 2010 ACC Board Chair Award for her contributions to the airport industry in the area of sustainability.
Lurie has been involved with the ACC for almost a decade and was the founder of the Sustainability Committee for ACC, which now has one of the largest numbers and most diverse membership of any committee. She helped develop the Sustainable Aviation Guidance Alliance database, which is a resource for those in the industry interested in best practices and continual improvement in airport development.
