Schoor DePalma agreed to purchase Advantage Engineering, a 55-person firm specializing in geotechnical and environmental engineering and construction inspection, with offices in Mechanicsburg and Allentown, Pa., and Mount Laurel, N.J. Advantage will operate under its current name as a division of Schoor DePalma. Greenhorne & O'Mara, Inc. (G&O), acquired the Pensacola, Fla.-based, civil/structural engineering consulting firm of James J. Mallett, P.E., P.A. The acquisition, an addition to G&O's five Florida offices, is expected to expand the firm's capacity in Northwestern Florida. Otak, Inc., merged with HLB & Associates, a 50-person firm specializing in surveying, engineering, planning, and wetlands consulting. The acquisition expands Otak's presence into new markets along the Oregon and Washington coasts. STV Group, Inc., acquired Ralph Whitehead Associates, Inc. (RWA), a 155-person consulting civil and transportation engineering firm based in Charlotte, N.C. RWA brings to STV its highway and bridge engineering practice in the southeastern states, as well as a nationwide practice in rail freight engineering that complements STV's national rail practice.
