CE News enters a new era with Zweig White
Recently, an exciting new company was formed that will expand the business information and advice you expect from CE News. ZweigWhite, which provides business insight and expertise that helps architecture, engineering, and construction firms reach their potential through management consulting and publishing, has merged with Mercor Media, Inc., the publisher of CE News. The new company, called Zweig White Information Services, LLC (ZWIS), will continue to provide the same services for which the companies are known, including management consulting, publishing, event production, and research. With offices now in Chicago, Boston, San Francisco, Atlanta, and Washington, D.C., we bring together experts in strategic business planning, organization, operations, business valuation, ownership transition, human resources, recruitment, finance and administration, information technology, mergers and acquisitions, market research, marketing, project management, and project delivery methods.

As a new, information powerhouse, we publish CE News, Structural Engineer, Bridge Builder, and Gas Industries - business-to-business magazines that all are geared for engineers involved in the design, maintenance, and rehabilitation of various types of infrastructure. Our offering of newsletters will grow now to include the bimonthly, e-newsletter, Civil Connection; the weekly newsletter, The Zweig Letter; and the bimonthly newsletter, The Zweig A/E Marketing Letter. Additionally, annual Market Intelligence Reports, which are comprehensive overviews of niche markets, such as State DOT and Municipal Water and Wastewater, will be published by ZWIS and reported on in CE News.

Additionally, the merger will expand the face-to-face learning and networking opportunities sponsored by CE News. The Land Development Conference & Expo, the EnviroExpo, the Best Firms To Work For Summit , and The Zweig Letter Hot Firm Conference & Celebration (Oct. 27-29 in Boston ) - among other industry-specific business management training events - will be part of our new, annual lineup.

I am sure you can imagine the excitement and potential generated when two like-minded companies, allied in providing for one industry, unite. We plan to provide more in-depth coverage of business news and trends in CE News , to share the expertise of many knowledgeable consultants we have on staff, and to conduct and report on more intensive research projects. ZweigWhite founder, Mark Zweig, who has been named vice chairman of the ZWIS board of directors, said, “This is good news for the thousands of ZweigWhite consulting clients and customers. We'll have new geographic outlets for our consulting operations in Chicago and Atlanta , and we'll have more capabilities in research and publishing. Our formula has not changed. We are here to make our clients and customers more successful. To the extent we can do that determines how successful we will be, ultimately.”

Needless to say, my mind is racing with ideas about how our team can enhance our offerings “for the business of civil engineering.” With the additional expertise and resources created by this fusion, as well as the new products and services that will no doubt result from it, you are going to be the beneficiaries of a wonderful new era for CE News.
